A never-ending fascination with the body and all of the information it holds has led Shiv
on on a wonderful journey that includes martial arts, yoga, Qi Gong and Bodywork (and yes...tattoos!). It has also led to a diverse exploration within Bodywork that will never end. A licensed massage therapist for over seven years, she has been certified in various modalities, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy Massage, Acupressure and Craniosacral Therapy. She approaches her work with compassion, joy and a deep reverence for the client, their process and the work being done. Her focus is on Bodymind Acupressure and Craniosacral Therapy, both of which she continues to pursue advanced levels of education in.
In addition, Shivon has received specialized training to work with critically ill adults and children, as well as children with special needs. She utilizes this training to volunteer in the NICCU at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, as well as with clients in hospice. Part of this journey included becoming a Certified Infant Massage Instructor, which has allowed her to share the wonderful benefits of massage with families. Most recently, Shivon visited Cambodia to volunteer at an AIDS orphanage and with various hospitals, providing massage therapy and teaching caregivers massage techniques. If you would like to see a video and photos of the trip, you can visit Shivon's Cambodia blog. She will be continuing her global outreach efforts with a trip to India this December 2010 and is currently in the fundraising process for that trip. Whether you want to relax and unwind during your session or delve deeper into your bodymind, she strives to make her table a safe, comfortable place for you to do just that.
