Various modalities can be combined for an integrative bodywork experience, or you may choose one specific type of session.
Bodymind Acupressure
Acupressure
is usually described as acupuncture without needles. This unique style
is a synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic
Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy,
Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory
and principles of Ericksonian psycho-therapy. While acupressure does
address physical symptoms and pain, it also deals with the emotional
issues that may be at the root of the problem. This approach helps
break unhealthy patterns, release muscular armoring and support your
overall health. We can address many symptoms, such as headaches,
sciatica, insomnia, depression, fatigue, skin problems, TMJ and more.
During a session, clients typically experience deep, pleasurable
relaxation and increased awareness of both the body and psyche.
Because
we are working with the bodymind, there are times during a session when
images, memories or emotions might come up for you as an area unwinds.
You are welcome to share a word, phrase or image from the experience if
you would like verbal support during this deeply healing process.

Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral
Therapy is a soothing, non-invasive form of bodywork that focuses on
removing restrictions in the craniosacral system to allow us to access
our natural healing abilities. The Craniosacral system is comprised of
the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the
brain and spinal cord, extending from the cranium down to the sacrum.
The cranial rhythm (like your pulse) can be felt at any area in the
body and requires only the most delicate of contact (typically less
than the weight of a nickel). During your treatment, various areas will
be held for a prolonged amount of time, allowing you to enter a deeply
meditative and healing state. This beautiful therapy can addresses
issues such as TMJ, headaches, past physical traumas, emotional traumas
and difficulties, back and neck pain, fatigue and so much more.

Pregnancy Massage
Bodywork
during pregnancy helps support both the physical and emotional needs of
the mother and growing baby. As the pregnancy progresses, so do the
needs of the mom. Each session will reflect where you are in your
beautiful journey, whether you are dealing with nausea, low back pain,
headaches, sciatic pain, feelings of uncertainty and everything
in-between. A combination of soft tissue work, acupressure and
craniosacral therapy is a safe, therapeutic way to relieve physical and
emotional stresses and enjoy this wonderful time to the fullest.
Research has shown
that when receiving prenatal massage, fetal movements normalize, labors
are shorter than when using breathing exercises alone and the need for
caesarean sections and medications are decreased. Also, in newborn
examinations, more self-consoling behavior and responses to faces and
sounds were apparent in babies whose mothers received regular massage
sessions while pregnant.

on a variety of conditions and age groups, such as premature birth,
FMS, ADHD, autism, pregnancy and much more, please visit the Touch Research Institute.
